A handful of Gillingham’s loan players enjoyed an evening out on Martin Allen before Saturday’s game against Plymouth.
Michael Richardson, Danny East, pictured, and Antonio German are all in their early 20s and all staying away from home as they help the Gills make the final push toward promotion.
And Allen was keen to help them settle in. The Gills boss said: “I took them all to Nandos. German, he likes Nandos, Richardson likes Nandos and so does East.
“They have all moved here away from their families and are committed to our club and I thought I would give them all a treat. It cost me a fortune but they have done me proud with their conduct and behaviour on and off the field. They deserved a Nandos trip.”
Deon Burton joined the outing along with Allen’s management team.
He said: “I am not sure if we should be doing that on a Friday night but what the hell. We had a good time, we weren’t late and there was no alcohol. I was the only one that had chips and didn’t they all do great? Maybe we will have to do it again!”
