Gills chairman Paul Scally has spoken out after fans daubed graffiti across the team's stadium following last night's disappointing defeat.

Messages calling for him and manager Andy Hessenthaler to go were painted at Priestfield stadium.

Fans were left reeling when the Gills lost on home soil for the second time this season on Tuesday.

They conceded two goals to Wycombe Wanderers - slipping three points off the bottom of League 2.

Gills chairman Paul Scally said: "I understand fans' frustration and we must remember that whoever daubed graffiti on the stadium was one individual.

"We are not talking about the normal, decent supporters and of course they will probably be quite horrified by someone who's behaving this way.

"If someone want to make personal comments about me as chairman that's fine, providing it stays away from the players."

The signs were scrawled across garage doors leading to the car parks of the stadium, in Redfern Avenue.

They were also painted over the windows of the Blues Rock Cafe and on the gated entrance to the banqueting suite.

Residents with garages backing onto Redfern Avenue, opposite the stadium, have also been affected, with someone writing 'Time to go' across a garden fence.

Former Gills supporter and season ticket holder Tony Slociak, who saw the graffiti this morning, said: "I am surprised it took so long for something like this to happen because I know supporters have been upset for quite a while."
