Gills on brink of double signing

GILLINGHAM are expected to make a double swoop for a Premiership goalkeeper and a Championship striker.

Manager Ronnie Jepson said that he hoped to have the loan deals for the two players tied up by Friday morning at the latest, so they are available for selection for the game against Northampton Town on Saturday.

He said: "We want to bring a keeper in to provide cover and competition for Kelvin Jack. He knocked his leg at Bradford and inflamed his old injury so we want another keeper in as a precaution.

"The striker we are hoping to bring is someone we believe would be very effective at this level. He knows what it’s all about."
