Gillingham were hoping to hold talks over the weekend with Dagenham & Redbridge over the future of midfielder Adam Miller.
Miller’s loan deal from the Gills expired on Saturday and boss Mark Stimson was keen to find out from Daggers manager John Still if they wanted to keep hold of him.
Miller (pictured), 27, left Gillingham to get first team football and on departing, he made it clear he didn’t want to come back.
He has played eight games for League 2 promotion chasers Dagenham during a successful spell.
"We’ve made a call and we’re just waiting," said Stimson on Friday.
"They’ve got a couple of injuries and they are going for the play-offs/automatic promotion so they need a few bodies around. Hopefully, they will do something with Adam."
Miller is contracted to the Gills until the summer.
