A teenager fell through the roof of a timber yard after apparently climbing on the roof from her nearby home in Gillingham.

It is not clear what the young woman was doing on the roof of Lakeside Timber, in Napier Road, but she is thought to have climbed out of a bedroom window of her home and then onto the roof.

It is thought she fell through a skylight and onto a concrete floor.

It is not known how old the woman is, but she did not suffer serious injury during the fall, which happened at about 12.20pm Friday.

Kent Air Ambulance was called to the scene and landed in the nearby Gillingham Park, but because the injuries were not serious, paramedics deemed it safe enough to take her to Medway Maritime Hospital via a land ambulance.
