Girl hit by car suffers serious head injuries

AN 11-year-old girl has been seriously injured in a collision with a car in Kent.

The incident happened just before 3.50pm yesterday in Station Approach, Hayes.

Hayes School pupil Anna Hunter suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital where she underwent surgery.

Just before 5am today she was in a stable condition and is due to be transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital later.

The incident is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police's traffic investigation unit at Catford.
