A GIRL of nine from Whitstable was taken to hospital with a head injury on Thursday afternoon after she was in collision with a car in the town’s Eversleigh Rise.

Police said the injury to the young pedestrian was "not life threatening". She was kept in hospital in Margate ovenight for observation.

The car involved was driven by a man from Whitstable.
