A KENT GP forged prescriptions for a Viagra-style drug to help clients who could not afford treatment.

Dr Valiyaklayil Kesavan Ramu, of Pond Farm Lane, Borden, near Sittingbourne, admitted two offences of deception and one of fraud at Sittingbourne Magistrates’ Court.

Dr Ramu, 68, admitted two further offences of fraud which were considered by magistrates.

He was due to be nominated for a New Year Honour for charity work but his career is now in tatters.

Suspended by the General Medical Council, he must await sentencing after magistrates ordered probation reports.
