Gravesend scored four tries in a plucky display against unbeaten joint leaders Barnes before losing 42-26 in National 3 London & South East on Saturday.

A crowd of more than 300, boosted by the home club’s Captain‘s Day lunch watched an entertaining game, with the home side producing 100 per cent effort, and scoring four tries to earn a bonus point.

The tries by Adam Bishop, Tom Bishop, Gary Gray and Ziggy Stevens with full back Dave Dorton kicking three conversions.

The final score line did not do justice to the efforts from a disappointed home XV, but should bode well for their visit to Bracknell next week.
