A CONMAN robbed a 90-year-old woman of £500 after calling at her home in Concord Avenue, Chatham.

He knocked on the victim’s back door and told her he had cleaned her gutter and wanted £25. She went into her living room and returned with an envelope containing about £500 cash.

The man grabbed the envelope and escaped in a white van. The incident took place at about 2pm on Tuesday.

The offender is described as white, 20 to 25, of medium build with short, mousey hair. He was about 5ft 9in and smartly dressed.
