TV comedian Harry Hill has caused a stink after making a joke about finding poo in a Kent swimming pool.
The big-collared star said he had to evacuate a Sittingbourne pool after finding human faeces floating in the water.
He made the remark on his prime-time show Harry Hill's TV Burp, which aired on Saturday and Sunday nights.
It was following a clip from the BBC Two programme Swimming with Crocodiles, during which presenter Ben Fogle talked about how many dives he had carried out.
He said: "I've done 24, one of which was in a swimming pool in Chiswick in west London. I don't think that actually technically counts actually."
Harry Hill, who is patron of Age Concern in Herne Bay, then replied: "Well you say that, I was swimming in the Sittingbourne swimming baths when I noticed, floating on the surface, what looked like a crocodile - a smaller type, and brown in colour, but it must have been dangerous because we were all told to get out the water."
It is believed he was referring to the Swallows Leisure Centre, run by Serco on behalf of Swale council.
No one from the leisure centre was available for comment.
A spokesman for Avalon Television, which produces the show, said: "Harry is not available for comment. As far as we're concerned it was a joke."
