Harry shows what a good sport he is

Award-winning TV Burp comedian Harry Hill was at his old school yesterday to support its campaign to re-open the sports field.

The double Bafta winner described it as "outrageous" that contractors had failed to carry out drainage work properly on the sports field at Staplehurst Primary School where he was a pupil in the 1970s. The field is now too uneven to use.

The work was contracted out by Provian Construction, formerly Brett Construction, based in Canterbury.

Mr Hill said to the children and teachers: "Let's shame them into doing something about this."

The school has been unable to use the field for two years and will again miss out on the annual sportsday which should take place in July.

Among the pupils he met was his namesake, six year old Harry Hill.
