Bromley boss Hayden Bird has quit his role after less than six months in the job.

Former Carshalton Athletic manager Bird arrived at Hayes Lane as part of Mark Goldberg's backroom team in January 2010 but took over the reigns at the start of this year following Goldberg's departure.

Bromley began the Blue Square Bet South superbly but fell away from the top of the table during the season and eventually finished outside the top-10.

Bird is understood to have handed in his resignation following a meeting with owner Jerry Dolke.

A club statement said: "Everyone at the Club would like to thank Hayden for his energy and enthusiasm in both the dugout and dressing room over the last 18 months.

"The board are currently in discussions with a couple of parties interested in investing in the club and will therefore not be making an immediate decision upon Hayden’s replacement."
