Ebbsfleet United's miserable away form saw them finish 2009 with another poor Blue Square Premier display at Hayes & Yeading on Monday.
Late strikes by top scorer Magno Vieira and substitute Scott Ginty proved no more than consolations after goals from Craig Watkins and Steve Basham's double ended the match as a contest.
Vieira pulled one back with six minutes left for his seventh goal of the season, converting substitute Clint Easton’s left-wing cross.
But Basham turned provider for Hayes substitute Esmond James to beat keeper Lance Cronin, pictured, and make it 4-1 four minutes from the end before Ginty got Fleet’s second in stoppage time.
