Hefty fine for Thames Water

Thames Water has been hit with a hefty fine for its role in carrying out substandard road repairs.

Thames Water Utilities (TWU) was fined £40,700 by Bromley Magistrates Court for a total of 46 offences relating to substandard work and failure to properly fence off work sites during repairs made last year.

It is the second time that TWU has faced Bromley Magistrates. In a similar case last year it had to pay almost £25,000 for carrying out substandard road repairs.
