Hey you Jimmy! They have your kilt

A KILT worn by comedian Russ Abbott and a stuffed alligator are just two of the oddities that will be put on display at a summer festival.

Also set to top the bill at Aylesford's Village Festival tomorrow (Saturday) is rock group the Logan Wilson band.

Almost 5,000 people are expected at the fun-packed day which this year has been given the theme of dance.

The World's Strangest Things competition is hoped to attract a bizarre collection of offerings and will be judged by Kent Messenger President Edwin Boorman.

The festival will be opened by Chatham and Aylesford MP Jonathan Shaw (Lab) and is being sponsored by the KM and Sainsbury's.

There will be performances from village clubs and dance groups and the day will be rounded off with folk and rock music at the festival concert.

Profits will be put towards good causes in the village, including the scouts and local charities.

The festival kicks off at noon (gates open at 11.30am) at Forstal Recreation Ground. Entry, £1.50 adults, children free.
