It is now possible to buy a new two-bedroom house with a garage for just over £800 a month at Highland Park, Ashford.
John Angela of John Angela Associates said: "Generally if the main earner is on £20,000 and the secondary earner on £15,000 and neither has any other monthly credit commitments or previous credit problems then to buy a property at £164,950 based on being true first-time buyers, they will be able to borrow £149,518 and at current rates this would be a monthly repayment of around £826.
"If they earn slightly less, or have any ongoing credit commitments the amount of borrowing permitted would be less. However, it is a very good time for first-time buyers to get on the property ladder with mortgage rates consistently low."
Dean Markall, sales and marketing director at Hillreed Homes, said: "We are marketing a number of properties suitable for first-time buyers. The Rudgwick 2 house type at Highland Park is one in question. At just £164,950 a first-time buyer and their partner could look to purchasing at a cost of just £826 a month. The buyer needs a five per cent deposit of £8,248 and Hillreed will match that deposit, allowing the purchaser's deposit to total 10 per cent.
"For not much more than a rental home they are securing a brand new house of their own."
The show house is open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm, or call 01233 610660.
Houses at Highland Park available range from £164,950 to £249,950 for a three-bedroom detached house with garage.
