Holcombe moved up to fourth place in Men’s Conference East with a deserved 6-0 victory over Oxted on Saturday.
It was no surprise when Dave Mathews opened the scoring in the ninth minute from a short corner.
Mathews doubled the score in the 34th minute with a penalty flick and he went on to complete his hat-trick after the break.
The second half was more of the same from the home side and Liam Foster was on hand to meet a near-post cross and make it 3-0 in the 40th minute.
Foster scored his second with a great one-handed reverse shot and Simon Ramsden wrapped up the win from a short corner.
Holcombe ladies had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Chelmsford 2nds in East Women’s League Premier Division as they lost their 100 per cent league record.
The visitors started brightly and Lauren Osborn and Jennie Hoyte both made early runs in a goalless first half.
Chelmsford broke the deadlock with an impressive reverse stick shot but Holcombe raised their game and, after many missed penalty corners, drew level when a well-worked routine between Vanessa Lines and Hoyte saw the latter score
