Homeless man remanded over teenager's murder

A HOMELESS man has appeared in court charged with murdering a teenager.

Lee James, 32, is accused of stabbing to death 18-year-old Faridon Alizada at a block of flats in Erith.

He is also charged with the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy and the malicious wounding of another 16-year-old boy with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

The stabbings happened in the early hours of Saturday, outside Verona House, in Waterhead Close.

James spoke only to confirm his identity.

Bexley magistrates remanded him in custody until a hearing at the Old Bailey in April.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses. They want to trace a white man seen wearing a waist length yellow fluorescent vest or jacket and white trainers seen in the area at the time.
