THE new Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports has carried out his first engagement at his official residence at Walmer Castle, near Deal.

Lord Boyce officially named his first two Lord Warden sea cadets who have been selected for their outstanding abilities.

The honours went to Leading Cadet Tim Weaver, 15, from Ramsgate, and Petty Officer Craig Clark, 16, from Hastings.

Among their duties will be to accompany the Lord Warden at civic events, including his official installation in Dover on April 12.

Lord Boyce succeeds the Queen Mother as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports.
