A HOLDALL containing £10, a newspaper and other goods was snatched from an elderly woman as she walked home from the shops in Cliftonville, near Margate.

The attack on the 79 year old happened in Lower Northdown Avenue at about last Friday.

Police say the victim felt the bag being wrenched from her grip from behind. The thief is a man who wore a navy anorak with the hood up.
