Teenager Jake Light was given just 24 hours to live after a horror fall through the roof of a derelict building.
His distraught family were at his bedside as he spent four weeks on a life-support machine, battling to survive.
But after spending a total of four months in hospital, 14-year-old Jake is now back at his home in Columbine Road, Strood.
He suffered a fractured skull, a broken back and a collapsed lung when the accident happened at the former Kent Alloys International site in Knight Road, Strood, on November 23 last year.
Mum Nicki said: “We thought it was the end of our world, we really did. We are so pleased to have him home at last.”
Jake was airlifted to a London hospital by the Kent Air Ambulance and his family are so grateful for the crew’s efforts that two of his cousins, Marc and George Light, will run the Flora London Marathon on Sunday to raise money for the Spinal Injuries Association.
