The minor injury unit (MIU) at Sheppey Community Hospital will be closed this weekend.

A spokesman said they had been forced to make the decision due to staff sickness.

It will be closed from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

During this time, patients are advised to use the MIU at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital in Bell Road, Sittingbourne.

The 5pm to 9pm walk-in service run by DMC Healthcare will still be available at the hospital in Plover Road, Minster.
