Who'd live in a fire station like this?
The hot property is coming under the auctioneer's hammer... and hopefully you won't need to have money to burn to buy it.
Queenborough fire station in Whiteway Road was one of seven around the county which Kent Fire and Rescue Service shut in March after a major shake-up.
A three-year review of the service found the station was not needed as crews based at Sheppey could respond just as quickly.
The detached property has a freehold guide price of between £60,000 to £70,000.
Clive Emson auctioneer, John Stockey, said: “We had another former fire station up for auction a few months ago, and it was snapped up for its quirky value.
“There is going to be keen interest in this one as well from bidders with their eyes on a hot investment – at a competitive price, it shouldn’t burn a hole in their pockets.
“The property offers potential for a variety of future uses, subject to all the necessary consents being obtainable.”
