More on KentOnline
APART from their top-notch tunes, it's a well-known fact that the success of the chart-topping Arctic Monkeys was largely down to the power of the Internet.
Building their fan base through just one website ultimately led them to a fierce record company bidding war, the fastest selling debut in UK chart history and gigs that sold out in seconds.
Here's where kmfm comes in…
We receive an enormous amount of emails, demos and requests from new artists taking their first steps in the music industry and as a truly local station we feel it's our duty to help in any way we can.
So on Monday, July 3, we go live with a new website aimed at putting YOU at the top of the pile. If you're an unsigned band, musician or artist in the local area then get online.
The website will allow you to upload your tunes, a biography and band information from gig dates to the ridiculous colour of your drummer's hair, allowing you to create a highly personalised mini-site to build your fan base. And it doesn't stop there…
There are also classified sections for you to track down band members, roadies, gig equipment and that elusive cherry sunburst Les Paul.
Venues can also list themselves, putting them in direct contact with local talent. There are also opportunities for companies to advertise on the site to push services that may be of use to members.
In addition, a weekly chart of the most listened to tracks will feature on the homepage, encouraging your fans to log on, listen and bump up your chart position.
kmfm is proud to able to promote local talent and support events around Kent.
This site will provide a premier network for live music around the county and, with heavy on-air promotion, is a great chance for you to get noticed. It's something we're very excited about and we hope you will be too.
So with all the hard work done for you, all that remains is for you to log on to the website and get registered.
We'll see you at the top...
