A MAN has been questioned by police in connection with the multi-vehicle pile-up on the A20 at the weekend in which a Folkestone man died.

The 34-year-old, from Hungary, was arrested at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital on Monday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Derek Bostock, 53, died, and another 20 people were injured in the crash, which involved more than 40 vehicles in dense fog and heavy rain at Capel on Saturday.

His VW Bora saloon was in collision with two lorries. He died at the scene.

In a statement Mr Bostock's family said: "He accomplished lots in his life. His main pastime was keeping fit. Del spent hours at the gym and enjoyed taking part in challenging running competitions.

"Del was known for being a character who was always winding people up. He loved to play tricks, but he had a heart of gold and was a very special son, partner stepfather and granddad.

"Words cannot describe our loss. He will be greatly missed by a lot of people."

Police officers at the scene endeavoured to collate all witness details but due to the scale of the incident, some witnesses may not have been spoken to.
