POLICE are searching for two young men after a man was injured when he was struck by a car in a Kent town.

The 46-year-old victim was walking across a car park in The Mount, Chatham, at around 7pm on Monday when the incident happened.

According to police, a dark-coloured Ford Fiesta suddenly sped up and hit the man after he had indicated to the driver and passenger, both of whom were young men, that the headlights were off.

The car is said to have sped off after the incident.

The man was thrown across the bonnet and hit his head on the windscreen. He was knocked unconscious and suffered two black eyes, blurred vision and pain to his back.

Lisa Duce, crime management supervisor, said: "I would urge those responsible for this to think about the potential consequences of their actions.

"The man involved is fortunate to not have sustained more serious injuries as a result of this unprovoked and thoughtless crime."
