POLICE are searching for a young woman who stole a mobile phone from a teenage girl in Ramsgate. The 17-year-old victim was talking on the blue Nokia phone as she walked in the town's High Street.

She was approached from behind by a young woman who snatched the handset and ran off.

The thief was white, about 5ft 7in tall with very long, dark brown hair. She was wearing a blue jacket.

CCTV cameras are being checked by police. The mobile phone will cost about £150 to replace.
