THIEVES stole electric cabling worth an estimated £13,000 from an outbuilding at the Detling Showground, near Maidstone.

It is thought the main door of the outbuilding was forced by the offenders between 7pm on Monday, June 5 and 8am on Tuesday, June 6.

DC Tracy Brightman said: "This cabling is very heavy and it is believed that any thieves would have needed transport to remove it from the premises.

"Due to the cost and unusual nature of the items stolen, we would be interested to know of anyone who has recently acquired a large quantity of these materials."
