Kent hurdler Jack Green earned a place in TeamGB for the London 2012 Olympic Games at the Aviva 2012 Trials in Birmingham on Saturday evening.
The 20-year-old (pictured), raised in Snodland before attending Brockhill Park School, Hythe, produced a storming finish in the Final of the 400m Hurdles at the Alexander Stadium to cross the line in second place in a time of 49.88secs.
The race was won by the Kent AC star's training partner and 2011 World Champion Daie Greene, and it was the first two over the line which guaranteed a place in Team GB for the summer's Games.
A third hurdler will be chosen by a UK Athletics selection panel.
A delighted Green, draped in the Union flag after the race, said: "It's a nice feeling. it's what we came here to do.
"The time wasn't great but the Olympics is the main focus and now I'm going to be there.
"I did what I came to do."
Green becomes Kent's first member of the TeamGB athletics team but could yet be joined by Dartford 100m sprinter Adam Gemili.
