A WINDSURFER who damaged his shoulder while sailing off the beach at The Leas, Minster, was rescued by Sheerness inshore lifeboat.

Lifeboat coxswain Robin Castle said that Mr M De Roberto, 37, of Walsby Road, Kemsley, near Sitingbourne, came off his board Wednesday afternoon. Another windsurfer saw that he was in difficulties and rang the emergency services.

Sheppey coastguard and paramedics attended the incident and Mr De Roberto was taken to Sheppey Community Hospital for treatment.
