Injured woman's two-hour ordeal in crash car

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital with multiple injuries after being released from her car which was involved in an accident with a coach.

The 23-year-old woman was trapped in her Vauxhall car for almost two hours after the crash which happened at the junction of Station Road with Lidwells Lane, Goudhurst, near Tunbridge Wells, at about 3.45pm on Wednesday.

She was taken to Maidstone Hospital by land ambulance after firefighters with three pumps used two sets of hydraulic equipment and cutting gear to remove the car roof and free her.

The Hams Diplomat coach, owned by Hams Travel at Flimwell, east Sussex, was carrying three school children but none of them or the coach driver were seriously hurt.

The junction was closed for several hours as emergency crews and officers from the police accident investigation unit worked at the scene.

Police said woman comes from Epsom in Surrey.
