An illegal immigrant fell out of a Eurostar train travelling at 100mph after being refused entry to the UK, an inquest heard.
An emergency exit was found open after Albanian Qemal Tocilla hurtled to his death near Cheriton.
Mr Tocilla, 22, a student from the capital city of Tirana, was returning home after being refused entry into the UK.
Coroner's officer Adam Trewerne told an inquest: "The emergency exit was opened and the train was going at 160km per hour at the time.
"The body was found on the track."
It had been found at Dollands Moor, Newington.
Mr Trewerne added that, following a post mortem examination, cause of death still had to be confirmed pending toxicology analysis.
Coroner Rachel Redman, at Dover Magistrates Court, adjourned the case for a date to be fixed.
The tragedy had happened on Monday, October 17 when Mr Tocilla had volunteered to leave the country.
He had been put on the 5.04pm London to Brussels train at St Pancras by UK Border Agency officials and travelled unaccompanied.
The Agency had said that he had been turned back from Britain because he did not have the right documentation.
