AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a pensioner after a body was recovered from the sea at Kingsdown, near Deal.

Violet Sime, 78, went missing from her home in Brabourne Lees, near Ashford, and Kent Police believed that she was in the St Margaret's Bay area.

The last reported sighting of the retired teacher was on Sunday, August 29, and her body was found on Tuesday, August 31.

The inquest was opened and adjourned for further inquiries.
