Invicta clinch water polo promotion

INVICTA Water Polo Club clinched the NWPL Division 2 title on Sunday to earn promotion to the sport’s top flight.

The club – based at the White Oaks Sports Centre, Swanley – rounded off the season in style with a 19-4 victory over Leeds at Loughborough, with Sean King scoring four goals.

And Invicta had further cause for celebration when the development side, the Invicta Marlins, won the NWPL Division 3 title and the junior side won the ASA Junior Championship for the second year running.

The youth team also had a good season, reaching the semi-finals of the ASA Youth Championship.

Invicta also have four players in the National High Performance Squad – which will form the basis of the 2012 Olympics team – five players in the GB youth squad and two players in the GB junior squad.
