Dynamos' Robbie Brown in action against Chelmsford Pic: David Trevallion
Invicta Dynamos have the opportunity to avenge their biggest defeat of the season when they travel to meet the Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday.
On their previous visit to the Essex club in September, the Mos were hammered 8-2 by a Chieftains side who lead ENIHL South Division 1.
Chelmsford also won 5-4 in the league at Gillingham last month but, with four successive wins behind them, including a double away success last weekend at Milton Keynes Thunder and the Streatham Redskins, Invicta will take on the league leaders in a much more confident frame of mind.
Invicta coach Kevin Parrish said: "We are on a bit of a roll at the moment and scoring 22 goals last weekend was pretty special even though Milton Keynes and Streatham aren’t among the league’s leading lights.
"Now we have got to take that form into Sunday’s game because we owe Chelmsford one for what happened there in September. That 8-2 defeat was embarrassing and now we’ve got the chance to make up for it."
Last weekend’s four-point haul underlined Parrish’s belief that his side are now playing with more consistency. On Saturday Dynamos powered to a 10-4 success at Milton Keynes thanks to goals from Ryan Ellis (3), Andy Smith (2), Callum Fowler (2), Ryan Giles, Callum Best and Daniel Fudger.
Sunday’s game against the Redskins was even more comfortable for the Mos, with Fowler netting four times and Ellis helping himself to another treble in the 12-3 romp. Justin Noble (2), Smith, Best and Craig Watkins were also on target.
Morale in the the Dynamos’ camp was further boosted this week by the return to light training of Nicky Lewis and Anthony Lennon.
Defenceman Lennon has made just six appearances so far this season after sustaining a shoulder injury in last month’s 10-5 cup defeat at home to the Romford Raiders while forward Lewis suffered a dislocated shoulder in the 5-4 home league defeat to the Chieftains.
