Invicta Dynamos begin a 10-match run-in to the end of their ENIHL South Division 1 programme this weekend with a double header against Oxford Stars and Wightlink Raiders.
They travel to Oxford on Saturday before taking on the Raiders at the Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday and head coach Kevin Parrish admitted: "To be honest, I won’t be happy with anything less than two wins."
A record of just three defeats in 26 matches would be enough to satisy most coaches but Dynamos have set such high standards in recent seasons that the two losses they have suffered since the turn of the year has allowed one or two doubts to creep in, with Parrish adding: "Although the team are in great shape fitness-wise, they are lacking a bit of self-confidence and need a couple of wins to help get it back.
"We had a good training session on Tuesday and we had another one planned for last night (Thursday). We have been working on a few different things which will hopefully show this weekend."
Dynamos have already beaten Oxford Stars and Wightlink Raiders twice apiece this season but both sides are pushing hard to make the end-of-season play-offs and could be dangerous opponents:
Parrish said: "They are among the teams who are fighting for a top-six place and so they need the points as much as do."
Invicta, 14-1 winners over Peterborough Islanders in their last match, were without a fixture last weekend and Parrish believes the mini-break may have come at a good time for his players. He added: "Maybe they needed to get away from it all for a bit and it’s given them the chance to re-energise themselves for the run-in."
