Celebrity Big Brother star Jackey Budden is “getting away” from her ex-girlfriend and tucking into the odd bag of chips – on the Island.
There is also a chance Warden Bay could be treated to a visit from her famous daughter, Jade Goody.
Ms Budden, who did a stint in the Big Brother house at the beginning of last year, spoke exclusively to the Sheerness Times Guardian on Tuesday.
She is staying with friends Col Farrugia and Keely Pohl, after a messy break up with her lover three weeks ago.
She said the Island where she spent many summers with her parents while she was growing up is the perfect place to lick her wounds and enjoy the odd pint down the local.
“I love it here,” said the 50-year-old. “I love seaside chips and going to the Talk of the Town in Leysdown. I have been spotted loads of times, but I buzz off that. One old bloke even took me to the shops when I was lost. I came here to get away from my ex-girlfriend, and to chill.”
Ms Budden, who lives in Bermondsey, south London, had planned to come to Sheppey for a weekend, but has stayed for almost three.
She said she loves it so much she is going to persuade her daughter to visit with her two sons.
She said: “I am definitely going to get Jade to come down. We can have a party. Although I have been spending most of my time doing the chores, when you knocked on the door I was about to hang the washing out.”
Ms Budden said she suffered 18 months of depression after coming out of the Celebrity Big Brother house.
She said she had been the subject of abuse, had her home vandalised, and been branded a “racist” after an incident in the house involving offensive comments and claims of bullying against co-star and winner Shilpa Shetty .
Keeping her company on her trip to the Island is her dog Crimbo, who should be feeling at home as couple, Ms Farrugia, 43, and Ms Pohl, 23, breed Rottweilers.
Despite declining to be photographed we managed to get a snap of Ms Budden taking Crimbo out for a walk.
She said: “We are both loving it here, I love the seaside. I am also getting the Sheerness Times Guardian and am going to read it every week, especially if I am in it.”
