Father Christmas in traditional green robes

Dickens World is going green this Christmas... and it has nothing to do with carbon footprints!

Visitors to Father Christmas's grotto at the tourist attraction at Chatham Maritime are in for a surprise. Instead of being greeted by a traditionally-clad Santa, wearing red robes, Father Christmas will be all decked out in green.

"Not many people know Santa used to wear green in Victorian times," said Dickens World spokesman Sarah Hirsch.
