A thug who robbed a teenager of his motorcycle has been jailed for two years.

Stephen Fraser had been told by a judge there was a streak of violence in him that was unacceptable.

Maidstone Crown Court heard victim Bradley Thomas was pushing his Kawasaki motorcycle across the playing field of The Malling School, East Malling, on May 22 last year.

He was taking it to a friend to sell when he saw Fraser and another man. Fraser was holding a golf club.

Fraser and his friend asked the victim if they could have a go on his motorbike and when he refused they grabbed it, started it up and drove off.

Police saw them in Dickens Drive and recognised Fraser, known as Fraggle. They crashed into a stationary Land Rover car, causing damage, and were then arrested.

Fraser, of Ewell Avenue, West Malling, denied robbery but was convicted last month.

Judge James O’Mahony said Fraser had a great number of convictions but had told the jury he did not do that sort of thing.

There had been repeated dishonesty “time and time again”.

The judge told 25-year-old Fraser: “You have been found guilty on the clearest possible evidence. You bullied and intimidated that young man. You had weapons with you.

“It is not the first time you have been violent. Three times you have been convicted of assaulting police officers.”

Judge O’Mahony said he had reduced the length of the sentence he had in mind having read a letter from him and hearing mitigation on his behalf.

Six months spent on remand will count towards the sentence.
