New Welling striker Jake Reid is hoping he can fire the club to promotion from Blue Square Bet South.
Reid impressed on his Wings debut against Tonbridge on Tuesday and is set to feature again on Saturday when Welling travel to relegation-threatened Billericay.
"It was great to get out there and pick up a win at home," said Reid, who has joined on loan from AFC Telford for the rest of the season.
"There's a great vibe in the club among the lads from what I have seen. Hopefully I can bring something to the team.
"The team looks pretty solid, they have been doing well all year and hopefully I can help push us over the line."
Reid, who has also featured for Newport and Salisbury, nearly scored against Tonbridge with a second-half header that hit the woodwork.
"I would have liked to score but I felt at times that I contributed to the performance," said Reid.
"I signed on Monday and I only knew one or two of the lads from playing against them before.
"The style of play is totally different to what I have been used to."
Reid could have signed for Welling in the summer but his Bristol location proved a stumbling block. However, he is willing to go the extra mile during the final few weeks of the season in a bid to help Welling gain promotion.
"I needed a fresh start and when I saw this opportunity I wanted to take it," he added.
"I've spoken to Jamie a few times about Welling and had contact with him but it's never been right at the time.
"It's only a couple of months, I've got family in London and I'm willing to make this sacrifice.
"Everywhere you go, you go to impress as you never know what is around the corner."
