Kent chief executive Jamie Clifford says a meeting with the county’s players and coaching staff on Tuesday morning proved “positive and very constructive.”
Senior players have sought assurances about the club’s future in the past few weeks, following the decision to release Amjad Khan.
Mr Clifford (pictured) said: “We were very honest about the current financial situation, and it was also the opportunity to sit down as a group and say this is where we are as a club.
"People do need reassurance about their jobs, whatever role they play, and I have also spoken to the rest of the club’s staff as well.”
The meeting was held before Kent’s annual end of season staff lunch at the St Lawrence Ground during which presentations were made to the leading batsman, bowler and fielder in all competitions this summer.
Vice-captain Martin van Jaarsveld, one of the players whose future with the club has been the subject of endless speculation, won the batting and fielding prizes, with the bowling award going to Simon Cook.
