MOTORISTS were caught in tailbacks when a van overturned on the M20 motorway this afternoon.

The Mercedes Sprinter van, carrying 20 drums of Flourine, a flammable, paint-related material, rolled over between junctions eight (Hollingbourne/Leeds) and nine (Ashford) on the coastbound carriageway, spilling some of its load.

It happened at about 2.30pm. Police closed one lane of the carriageway while firefighters cleared up the spillage. No-one was injured in the incident.
