A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder and aggravated burglary after a stabbing in Dickens Road, Maidstone, shortly before 9am Thursday.

Jason Sansom, of Farrier Close, Maidstone, was at Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Sansom - an assistant manager at a retail outlet - was remanded in custody.

He is next due to appear at a preliminary hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on February 1.

The victim has been discharged from hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
