NEARLY 100 jobs are to be axed when a company specializing in equipment for armoured fighting vehicles shuts its Erith site later this year.

Thales, in Church Manor Way, is an international electronics and systems group, serving defence, aerospace and security markets.

The Erith site has been earmarked for closure for economic reasons.
