John Nutter celebrated his 100th Gillingham appearance in style with a quality strike in Saturday’s win over Stockport.
Nutter has spent all season fighting with Chris Palmer for the left-back berth and at the weekend was forced to fill in on the wing.
He wasn’t out of place, though, and Mark Stimson was delighted the 27-year-old was rewarded for his efforts with the superb strike past Owain Fon WIlliams, as seen above.
The Gills boss said: "He and Chris can work that side and he had a good game for us. He’s another who gives his all and tries as best he can.
"Sometimes the unsung heroes don’t get the limelight, but on Saturday the likes of John Nutter could and it’s good.
"He really appreciates that he’s a professional footballer and he gives everything he’s got.
"For someone like that to score a goal like that on his 100th game, John will personally feel really proud and rightly so."
