Josh Gowling is keen to put the disappointment at Leeds behind him as the Gills go into Saturday’s clash at home to Norwich.
He said: "At Leeds we started okay but the four goals were all sloppy. We gifted them their goals. I’ve played against Leeds a few times and it was the best Leeds team I’ve faced.
"I was in a stinking mood after that game but it’s important to pick ourselves up and go again.
"Norwich is another tough game and there are so many of those in this division. They’re all tough games and we need to make sure we are turned on.
"I remember coming to Priestfield as a Bournemouth player and it was always an intimidating place to play and it was a ground I used to hate playing at."
Now in Gillingham colours, Gowling has quickly grown attached to the club.
He said: "It’s nice to be finally settled as it’s been a bit up and down over the last couple of years. There are a great bunch of lads here and it’s been a breath of fresh air to be around people I like and a manager I respect."
