A REHAB centre for drug addicts could become a permanent fixture in Bromley town centre after this evening.
Permission was granted in 2004 to turn St Pauls House, near the top of the High Street in Edison Road, from offices into an NHS therapy clinic.
Tonight, a council planning committee will decide whether to vary conditions which would make the centre permanent, allow it to treat up to 40 people a day and operate from 9am to 8pm.
Neighbours have opposed the new plans, claiming they will lead to an increase in "unsavoury" characters and anti-social behaviour.
A crime survey revealed there have been no reported incidents in relation to the site in the last 12 months.
Council planners have recommended the application be approved. A decision was differed last month pending comments from ward councillors and the police.
