There were tears before bedtime for Joe Swash.

The ex-EastEnder, who is due to appear in pantomime at Medway's Central Theatre next month, cried himself to sleep in the cave on Saturday night with a picture of his son lying on his chest.

Earlier, he had voiced his concerns in the I'm a celebrity Bush Telegraph room about how Nicola, Dani and Simon are forming a group and making people feel uncomfortable especially Timmy Mallett and David Van Day.

The pair arrived on the show later than the original 10 campmates and Joe believes they aren't being treated fairly.

Joe said: "Just because we've been here longer doesn't mean that we've got more rights than them. I don't think they should be made to feel unwelcome.

"Timmy's finding it a bit hard because I had a little chat with him and told him not to feel awkward."

On the upside, Joe is immune from eviction.

The cheeky chappie beat fellow contestants Martina Navratilova and David Van Day in the first Bush Battle.

The task saw the threesome hurriedly refilling dripping buckets of coloured water before the liquid ran out.

Viewers have also seen Joe and Esther flirting with one another.

So far Joe has given Esther a shoulder rub and washed and towel dried her hair.

While in the Bush Telegraph room Joe said: "The more touchy feely I am with someone the more comfortable they are in my company."

Joe will appear in Cinderella at the Central Theatre, Chatham, from Friday, December 12. For booking details, call 01634 338338 or visit www.medway.gov.uk/theatres
