Will Medway panto star Joe Swash be crowned King of the Jungle?

The ex-soap star is going Down Under after signing up for I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

Joe - best known as EastEnder wideboy Mickey Miller - is all packed and ready to fly to Australia for the ITV series which kicks off next week.

The 26-year-old, who was axed from EastEnders in February, is due to step on stage in Medway this Christmas.

He is the star name in a production of Cinderella at the Central Theatre in Chatham, playing the role of Buttons.

Viewers may even see Joe learning his lines for the panto whilst on the TV show.

A Medway Council spokesman said: "We knew that Joe had signed up to I’m a Celebrity...Get Me out of Here but we weren’t allowed to say anything.

"He has been given his lines to learn and we believe he’s taking them in to the jungle.

"The pantomime opens on December 12 and rehearsals are due to start a couple of weeks prior to the opening, probably about the end of November and Joe will back in time for it."
